Human resource management is guided by several overriding principles and so is operations management. Human resource management is concerned with the control of human labour while operations management involves planning, control and management of manufacturing firms. The following are comparisons of the principles underlining each of them. The first human resource principle is that it is that human resource is the most important department in every organization. On the other hand operation management is also of great importance as it ensures that the business operates efficiently by using few resources and ensuring that customer efficient customer service.

 As Michael Armstrong said that business success “is most likely to be achieved if the personnel policies and procedures od an organization are linked to contribute to the attainment of set objectives” that gives the second human resource principle which shows how human resource links different parties in an organization and ensure they are in harmony to achieve the company’s objectives. On the other hand operation management is involved with ensuring that the physical and technical functions are well managed to ensure great efficiency and ensure that every function is smoothly operating well without any hiccups. It also involves directing and giving instructions for the above to happen.

Another principle in human resource is that; it is the responsibility of the human resource management to find, train and develop employees whose skills and ambitions are in line with the organizations visions and objectives. This enables the organization to acquire skilled employees who are highly motivated to work since their personal goals are synchronized with those of the organization. On the other side operation management has the responsibility to develop and shape working strategies to ne used by the employees. This helps the employees to understand their roles and also know what is expected from them to achieve the set goals and objectives

Armstrong summarized human resource management and said “HRM is devoted to ensuring that an organization’s cooperate culture is shaped which show the support of important values of an organization and ensure it is successful”. On the other side operation management blends the applied strategies with people’s skills competence and technology to ensure that the organization achieves its goals. The above comparison between human resource management principles and operation management principles show how the two management fields help organizations to achieve their goals and objectives. The two management fields also show the important issues and responsibilities of each.

Project management principles are important assets in creating and ensuring that a project is successful. The following is a comparison between project management principles and operation management principles. Project management principles start with the designing of a project structure to ensure that the project is successful. That is made possible by coming up with the following aspects, project goals, and project timeline and project milestone. On the other hand operation management principles indicate the quality of processes that happen during operations to make it possible for an organization to be able achieve maximum returns and the set goals and objectives.

The second project management principle is setting a good definition of the project process. This is a crucial stage as it ensures the involved parties show their commitment and acceptance to the project. Operation management principles show the importance of ensuring that research and forecast is done to ensure that the company is aware of any errors that may arise in the future. This enables the organization to be ready for any emergences. It also helps an organization to set aside funds to cater for these emergencies and avoid budget deficits which causes hiccups in the overall production.

Another important project management principle is setting clear goals. The goals of the project should be clear and well communicated to all involved parties. These goals should be communicated from the beginning of the project so that the project performance can be strong and can smooth since everyone is aware of his/her roles. Principles of operation management emphasize on good communication between all involved personnel. Different departments should work together to ensure success. This is made possible by good communication. Communication channels are therefore created so that everyone can know whom to report to incase of any issue or problem.

Another principle underlining project management is risk recognition. Every project is faced with risk but it is important to recognize those risks so that they can be avoided. This is achieved by making sure that the project involved is unique with strict procedures and cost. Operation management principles emphasize on strategic planning about the production. Key decisions like location of business use of latest technology many more. These key decisions are made to ensure continuous smooth running of production. This planning is also used to identify possible risks that may happen and possible remedies that can be applied to avoid the risks.

Professional services are people in the industry today that require training in the art and sciences .Professional services is important in standardizing professions and ensure that a firms credibility and reputation are well kept. These organizations create management and challenges faced by leaders which an organization is not supposed to be facing. These organizations are able to sell their knowledge and expertise to the ones facing some challenges. Also issues like lack of staff motivations are some of the challenges catered for by these organizations. Professional services must offer creative remedies to keep the best professionals to enable competitiveness in organizations.
